Everyday Scams is about rethinking daily behaviors and habits and asking “have we been scammed?” The food we eat, the products we buy, and the way we treat our bodies are all influenced by social norms – things our parents told us, what our friends and neighbors do, and what we see in the media. Instead of taking these norms for granted, we ask if there are better alternatives.
This website is about the scams right in front of our noses. It’s not about grand-scale scams like social security and carbon footprints. It’s not a conspiracy theory website, although some of the scams discussed could be considered conspiracies against everyday people.
Scams to be covered include:
- Mattresses
- Lawns
- Miles per gallon
- Shampoo
